Organizers said that more than 1100 registered for the 49th annual 5K Father’s Day Road Race on 6/18/23. According to Racewire, 1043 completed the course.
Fairhaven’s Will Benoit, 20, was first over the finish line in 15:03; Adam Sylvia, 22, of Rochester was second in 16:08; and Wyatte Lee, 18, of Raynham was third in 16:08.
First woman over the line was Rachel Schilkowsky, 31, of Providence, in 16:54; second was Hailey Desmarais, 17, of Assonet in 18:41; and third was Naomi Cass, 19, of Westport in 19:51.
The weather was cool, with the skies alternating between sunny and threatening rain, but the rain held out for the runners.
Last year was the first year back after the pandemic, and saw 794 finishers. Mr. Benoit won that race too, coming in at 15:39.8.
