The Fairhaven Acushnet Land Preservation Trust held another cleanup in the Acushnet River at the White’s Factory property in Acushnet on 8/22/26.
Volunteers with the FALPT has been working to create clear pathways along the river to support the herring’s migration next season They have cut branches, cleared debris, and collected lots of trash.
On 8/22 the FALPT posted on Facebook that they covered “half a mile of river, collected 177 bottles, 160 broken bottles, seven tires, and about 30 other random pieces of rusty old metal from the beautiful Acushnet River! Now that’s something to be proud of! STEWARDSHIP at its best!”
