Press Release
Bob McConnell of Fairhaven has acquired the required certified signatures to be on the November 6th ballot as the Republican candidate for the 10th Bristol State Representative seat.
One clear reason McConnell gives as his motivation to serve is the fact that Massachusetts is sadly in last place for contested political elections. It’s reported that 73% of state wide elections in 2020 went unopposed.
Candidate McConnell had intentionally made announcement of his candidacy accompanied by G.O.P. chairman Jim Lyons at the March 12th Monument Beach training event.
McConnell declares, “An unopposed election is not going to happen in the 10th Bristol District this year. The incumbent has held office since 1992. This year the 43,142 citizens of the 10th Bristol will have a choice.”
• Unrestrained, unsustainable Beacon Hill spending OR conservative, transparent fiscal responsibility.
• Disastrous sanctuary city policies, political scofflaws of Federal immigration law OR support and enforcement of Federal immigration laws.
• Defunding Police and punitive Police reform legislation OR safe communities and respect and support of our law enforcement professionals.
• Filthy roadways, unsafe disgraceful condition of roads, bridges and tunnels OR unlittered, well maintained, illuminated and safe roadway infrastructure.
• Permanent mail-in voting, same-day voter registration OR voter integrity and and voter ID legislation.
These are all very concerning issues which have been created by a super majority one party controlled Democrat legislature.
Bob McConnell states he feels compelled to seek elected office because he hears the apathy, general disapproval, hopelessness and frustration of family, friends and neighbors.
Bob McConnell is a 25-year home owning Fairhaven resident. He is the proud father of two sons, Owen Henry and Liam Crawford, and now a beautiful grandson Rowen Michael. Liam is a US Marine Afghanistan combat veteran and also former Correctional Officer with the Plymouth County Sheriff.
