FPD has BIG NEWS!!
The Fairhaven Police Department is EXCITED to announce our very own K9 Division. We have selected Officer Jillian Jodoin as our K9 handler.
Our friendly scent community support K9 will be trained in locating missing and endangered children and adults, track persons involved in crimes, and offer our officers and citizens comfort in times following a traumatic incident.
The K9 will also be trained in the detection of the deadly drugs heroin and fentanyl. We also look forward to offering our K9 services to neighboring communities.
The newest four legged Fairhaven Officer will soon be selected from a New England breeder of Labrador Retrievers that specializes in police K9’s. Once selected, the Fairhaven K9 will undergo a vigorous ten-week training program with Officer Jodoin at the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office starting September 27, 2021.
Our friendly scent K9 will be trained and enthusiastic to work and support the community of Fairhaven.
If you would like to support our K9, donations can be made to the Fairhaven Police K9 Unit.
Please contact Officer Jillian Jodoin, 508-997-7421, Jillian.Jodoin@ fairhavenpolice.org). Checks can be made payable to: “Fairhaven Police K9 Account.”
