Two Fairhaven High School students, Senior Eliana DaCunha and Junior Lily Frank, recently teamed up to raise money in honor of Brock Taylor. Brock is a seven-year-old boy who lives in Maine and is battling a very aggressive brain cancer.
A serious Halloween lover, Brock has asked for Halloween cards, and people from all over the country have responded.
Eliana heard of the little boy and decided to dedicate a polo match to him. Lily made cookies and Eliana made baskets to sell. Their team, the Interscholastic Girls Newport Polo Club (junior team), played against Brown on Friday, 10/27. The score was even.
“Many thanks to Brown University polo for joining us for our Halloween scrimmage to Minnie and my team for helping me with the ‘Brock’tober’ fund-raiser,” wrote Eliana on her Instagram page. “Great time & great polo for a great cause — thank you to everyone who came!!”
If you’d like to send cards to Brock, mail to Brock Taylor, 11 McKenney Drive, Biddeford, ME 04005. It does not matter that they’ll be a little late. As all Neighb News readers know, Halloween is a state of mind.
