Autumn Tangney, a resident of Fairhaven, MA who was awarded a bachelor’s degree during Providence College’s commencement ceremonies held on May 21, 2023, was recently honored for her academic achievements. She double majored in health policy and management and political science and minored in sociology.
Autumn, who graduated Summa Cum Laude, received the Gerard D.’73 and Nathaniel S.’07 Downing Award in American Politics.
She was also student body president and was a member of the Phi Sigma Tau (International Philosophy), Pi Sigma Alpha (National Policial Science), Dirigo Leadership and Charles V. Chapin honor societies.
After graduation, Autumn will be pursuing a master’s degree of science in public health at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Founded in 1917, Providence College is the only college or university in the United States administered by the Dominican Friars. The Catholic, liberal arts college has an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 4,100 students and offers degrees in 56 academic majors.
Since 1997, Providence College consistently has been ranked among the top five regional universities in the North according to U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges.”
