Fairhaven holds first DisABILITY Pride event

August 2, 2023 by Staff Writer

By Beth David, Editor

The town of Fairhaven Belonging Committee teamed up with MO LIFE, a nonprofit that provides support for individuals with developmental disabilities, to hold the town’s first DisABILITY Pride event on 7/30/23 at the Fairhaven Senior Center.

The day included information booths, a dunk tank, and activities for kids, including face painting.

Jessica Fidalgo, a member of the Belonging Committee and an organizer, thanked a number of people and groups on her Facebook page.

“We had hundreds of people come, there was laughter and smiles the whole time,” wrote Ms. Fidalgo. “We are so glad we had involvement from so many of our residents, town employees, elected & appointed officials, non-profits & businesses. This event was a community event through and through! Even mother nature supported us with the weather as one speaker said.”
