The Fairhaven Historical Society is pleased to announce that Kate Flannery is this year’s recipient of the $1,000 Enrique Goytizolo Scholarship.
Kate graduated this June from Fairhaven High School and in the fall plans to attend Salve Regina University as a business major.
Her essay outlined her efforts, alongside her grandmother, Beverly Rasmussen, to prevent the closing of the Rogers School where she was a 2nd grader at the time. Kate wrote of her love for Fairhaven and her desire to return to her hometown after the completion of her education.
We wish Kate the best in her future endeavors!
