FAIRHAVEN PLANNING BOARD:
John Malaspino
My name is John Malaspino (I go by Jay) and I am interested in returning to the planning board as a write-in candidate.
There are three positions on the ballot and I am running a write-in campaign for the two- year term that was vacated by Nicholas Carrigg.
I have held that seat since July of 2018 upon my appointment to fill out the term until the next election.
I have been a homeowner and resident of Fairhaven for the past seven years. I have spent a majority of my life on Cape Cod before moving to the Southcoast a decade ago. This experience living in towns bordered by the ocean will enable me to understand our needs for planning in the future.
My work experience has been exclusively in the construction/residential design field. At present I am a self-employed residential home designer. I have worked a large part of my professional life as a self-employed business owner so I understand the needs of local businesses and concerns.
I feel I will bring mainstream moderate concerns in my voting for projects that come before the board. I attend most meetings, having only missed one meeting (that wasn’t on the yearly schedule of meetings) in the previous nine months. I study the projects that come before the planning board and try to inform myself before the meeting.
I have recently completed an all-day schedule of classes sponsored by the Citizen Planner Training Collaborative for members of Massachusetts planning/zoning boards.
If elected I will continue training in order to better serve the position.
I respectfully ask for your vote on April 1st.
Please write in my name and address for the two-year term: John Malaspino 14 Bayview Avenue.
I hope for success so I can continue serving our town. Thank you!
