The #6 Fairhaven Blue Devils hosted the #22 Danvers Falcons on 6/4/26 in the MIAA Division 3 round of 16 at the Joe Jason Senior Champions Field at Pope Park in Acushnet.
Fairhaven opened the tournament with a low-scoring win against #27 Taconic. Ryan Pires pitched a complete-game shutout leading the Blue Devils to the 1-0 win.
Prior to matching up against Fairhaven, Danvers won at home in the preliminary round against #43 Holyoke and on the road against #11 Swampscott in the round of 32.
The Falcons were fortunate to start the game with two runs in the first inning. Cracks appeared in Danvers’ armor slowly, then all at once. Down two early, Fairhaven racked 11 runs in the face of adversity to build a nine-run cushion after three innings of play.
The Blue Devils brought the hammer down once more in the fourth inning, recording four runs. The game was knotted up after five innings of play. Fairhaven combined for a no-hitter with 15 unanswered runs on 11 hits.
The Blue Devils lost to the #3 Middleborough Sachems the following Sunday, 0-1. Despite a close effort, Fairhaven fell in the round of 8.
