Special Ceremony
A special event will be held on Wed., 5/7, from 5-8pm at Fort Phoenix. Join the Fairhaven Village Militia at Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the First Naval Battle of the American Revolution, fought just off our shores in 1775. This pivotal moment in history saw local patriots defending their waters against the British, marking the beginning of America’s fight for independence at sea.
Hosted by the Fairhaven Village Militia, this special ceremony will honor the bravery of those who stood against tyranny. Experience a piece of living history at the very site where these early revolutionaries took their stand!
Encampment
The Militia will also be hosting revolutionary war encampment on the grounds of Fort Phoenix starting on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 10:00 am to Sunday, June 8, 2025 12:00 pm. Watch activities such as fire starting, tin smithing, leather working, cooking and more. Cannon firing at dusk on Saturday Evening (approximately 8 pm).
