The public is invited to a free presentation offered by the League of Women Voters of South Coast calling attention to NB Votes Youth Empowerment Program to be held Thursday, 3/23/23, at the New Bedford Free Public Library, 613 Pleasant Street from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Mr. Manuel Debrito, the New Bedford election commissioner, in collaboration with local high school students, the New Bedford Election Commission, the New Bedford Public Schools, and the Mayor’s Youth Council, will encourage civic engagement and emphasize the importance of the election process, voting, and how to increase voter turnout. The League of Women Voters believes voting is one of the most vital rights we have, and we must exercise this right and have our voices heard.
No registration is required. The library is accessible and street parking is available. The League of Women Voters of South Coast is a non-partisan, non-profit organization. For more information about the League, please visit our website www.lwvmmr.org, or email lwvsouthcoast@gmail.com
