Douglass Tree sale benefits ALS research

December 7, 2017 by Staff Writer

After being forced to cancel its annual Christmas Tree sale last year due to the drought, Douglass Tree Farm is back in business, with sale on for this weekend.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat. & Sun., 12/9 & 10 (rain or shine), the Douglass family will be selling Christmas Trees at 100 Sconticut Neck Road, Fairhaven.

All trees are $40 each, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to organizations that are involved in finding a solution for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and also help people live with the disease.

Also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, ALS is a nervous system disease that weakens muscles and impacts physical function.

Since 2001, the sale has raised more than $250,000 for ALS research.

This weekend volunteers will be on hand to help you cut your tree and load it onto your vehicle, or feel free to cut it down yourself.

This fun, family errand has become a favorite tradition for many. Come by, roam the grounds to find the perfect tree for your home.
