Halloween Costumes
Dear Frankie,
I often win first prize in the Halloween parade, and some of the dogs at the dog park resent me for it.
I can’t help that my mom is a costume designer and makes such amazing Halloween outfits.
What can I do to make them happy, other than skip the parade, which would be really disappointing?
Bruce
Dear Bruce,
You have to admit that having a mom who is a costume designer gives you an advantage.
One suggestion is to loan some of your old costumes to your friends.
Another idea is to allow past winners, like yourself, to walk at the front of the parade or ride on a float, but not compete for a prize for two years after winning. This way, you can participate in the parade and be recognized as a winner, while giving others the chance to win a blue ribbon. It would be a win-win for everyone.
Best, Frankie
