The Lesser
Dear Frankie,
Having a beautiful friend like Celeste isn’t always easy.
Whenever we go out, people stop to admire her and tell me how gorgeous she is, as if I didn’t already know.
It makes Celeste feel bad because no one ever notices me.
She says she ignores the attention and thinks I should too. I wish I could let it go, but I just can’t.
Ruby
Dear Ruby,
You can’t control how people react to Celeste, but you can decide how you handle it.
Since you know this happens when you’re out together, try making it fun. Before you go out, make a bet with Celeste about how many compliments she’ll get.
Whoever guesses closest wins a favor or a treat from the other. This way, you might even start hoping people notice her, just to win the game.
Best, Frankie
