Hi everyone, I’m excited to be back with a new story for you. After a great season, Fairhaven High School’s football team hit the field at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, 12/4/24, to compete against Hudson High School for the state championship.
The first touchdown was scored by Fairhaven which gave us a great advantage and put us in the lead. During the second and third quarters, Hudson caught up and later overtook FHS. However, soon enough, Fairhaven came back in the fourth quarter but ran out of time to pull through with a win.
Although we didn’t come back home with another win this year, the football players put on an exciting fourth quarter comeback and almost caught up to the opposing team, resulting in the score 21-14.
As it being my second time attending the FHS game at Gillette Stadium, I really enjoyed the game. I think it’s a perfect time for people in the community and school district to come together and acknowledge all the players’ dedication and hard work this season.
We cheered for them alongside the cheerleaders and proudly showed off our school spirit and pride.
During halftime, we took a break from a long, hard two quarters of cheering and headed to the concession stand for some warm food and hot chocolate (my favorite!) that were perfect for this cold, holiday season. During half time, we also enjoyed an amazing show put on by the cheerleaders and band.
With performances from our football players, cheerleaders, and band members, all of FHS’s talent was on display at Gillette.
I want to congratulate all the Fairhaven High School football players for a wonderful season full of great memories. The players put on their best performance every Friday night and never failed to make their community proud.
Even though we faced a tough loss last Wednesday, making it to Gillette for a second year in a row is an accomplishment in and of itself. We’re proud of you Blue Devils!
That’s all for this week, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season full of peace and joy.
