Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker said this week that businesses on the “Phase 2” list, slated to reopen on 6/8, can begin preparations inside their stores to open in the next phase.
Workers will be allowed in to prepare businesses and get them ready for the many changes necessary for the phased reopening.
Retail stores will be allowed to let customers inside, but will have to limit occupancy. Youth Sports programs will also be allowed to begin, but with restrictions, including the number of participants and prohibiting contact drills.
Restaurants will also be allowed to provide outdoor dining services with resrictions at the start of Phase II. Indoor dining may be allowed after Phase II is underway if there is a “continued positive progression of public health data.”
Visiting long term care facilities resumed this week, but with a lot of restriction: only two people at a time; the visit must be pre-arranged, and it must be outside, and visitors must wear masks and stay six feet away from the person hey are visiting.
