Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker lifted the stay-at-home order, which required people to stay at home from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., except for essential travel, such as work. Businesses are now allowed to stay open past 9:30 p.m.
The state’s COVID 19 numbers are still high, but are going down. There were 2,215 confirmed cases on 1/25, bringing the total to 481,517 total in the state. There were an estimated 85,395 currently active cases as of 1/25. There were also 1,951 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, 431 in ICU and 278 intubated. There were 41 confirmed deaths on 1/25, brinGing the total to 13,930 in Mass.; and there was one new probable death, bringing the probably death total to 290.

The state has also opened up more mass testing sites, pharmacy locations, and local sites. By mid-February, the state will have 165 vaccination sites.
The state has also expanded the list of those who can get vaccinated. Starting on February 1, individuals 75 or older can get vaccinated, as part of Phase Two of the distribution plan.
Individuals 65 and older and individuals with 2 or more comorbidities will now be the second priority group. Those individuals will be eligible to get the vaccine next, but the exact date depends on the number of doses the state gets from the federal government.

Fairhaven had 1453 total cases, 334 in the last 14 days, positivity rate of 10.36%. Acushnet had 913 cases, 245 in the last 14 days, and a positivity rate of 13.32%.
