Beat the Heat
The Fairhaven Senior Center, 229 Huttleston Ave. (near Stop & Shop) is running extended hours this week to help people escape the heat.
Wednesday, 7/17, the center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday, 7/18, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
They will be showing movies on Wednesday, and Thursday at 3 p.m. There are also games, cards, puzzles, and space just to sit and relax!

The Acushnet Senior Center, 59 1/2 So. Main Street, serves as a cooling center during its regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All are invited to come in and beat the heat.

The Acushnet Public Library, 232 Middle Road, is air conditioned and welcomes all. Hours are: Mon.–Thuirs., 10:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; Fri., 1–5 p.m.; Sat., 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
New Bedford public library, all branches, are air conditioned and open to the public. Call 508-991-6275 for locations. And the Senior Center at Buttonwood Park, 1 Oneida St., is air conditioned and open Mon.–Fri., 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. All are welcome at all locations.
