The Fairhaven Alumni Association is pretty sure it’s a record: a 75-year reunion of seven FHS alumni on 6/1/23. They have had a reunion every five years since graduating, making this year’s reunion their 15th. Until the pandemic, they met every month for lunch.
“It was the the most unusual class Fairhaven High School ever had,” said Bob Frates.
Why?
“I could not answer that,” he said. adding that maybe it is the building.
The magnificent 1906, Elizabethan-influence design is by Charles Brigham and includes marble floors, oak paneling, and many other extraordinary features.
“It has always tied us together,” said Mr. Frates. “People we never met, friends, family. There’s no competition with this class with anything.
“It’s a little piece of heaven,” asid Karen
Bob Wilson said he expected a gift for having traveled the longest distance, 90 miles, from Tewksbury. The other weren’t buying it.
Mr. Wilson said he liked to see everyody and get updated on what they’re up to in their lives.
“I want to see how people are doing. See who’s still kicking,” said Ruth (Porter) Covill who taught at Fairhaven High School for a while in the business department.
She had a contact list with addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.
And they’re all looking forward to 2028.
