Acushnet Lighting & Sing Along
After a year away because of Covid, Santa will return to the Acushnet Fire Department this Sunday, December 5th at 6 p.m.* for the annual lighting of the Christmas display and holiday sing-a-long.
“Last year we had to break a lot of little hearts by cancelling this beloved annual event,” said Fire Chief Kevin Gallagher. “My decision was based strictly on public health. This year we are fortunately in a better position and feel more comfortable hosting the event.”
Those attending can expect hot chocolate, cookies, music and an appearance from Santa who will once again arrive on a fire truck.
“The members of the Acushnet Firefighters Association have worked hard over the past few weeks getting the display ready,” said Firefighter/ Paramedic and Association President Paul Frysinger. “It feels good to everyone to see this event return.”
Similar to the Halloween event, attendees will not be allowed inside the fire station. Refreshments will be served outside and Santa will mingle with the crowd and pose for photos.
“We hope this event next year completely returns to normal,” said Firefighter Frysinger.
