On Saturday, 1/6, Acushnet firefighters needed the assistance (once again) of Fairhaven Fire Department’s Ladder #1 for a chimney fire on Crompton Street. The chimney needed to be opened from the top safely, and that required a ladder truck as ground ladders wouldn’t work. We have requested Fairhaven’s ladder 4 times in three weeks!
