The date of the closure of the West Island causeway for construction of the water main has still not been finalized.
The original date was in late October, but now the project time frame is mid to late November, according to Vincent Furtado, Fairhaven Superintendent of Public Works.
The plan calls for the causeway to be closed for approximately one hour on one day. Residents will not be able to drive on or off the island. An ambulance will stationed on the island.
