Frank and Lisa Carreiro are grateful for the Christmas cards that thoughtful people from around the area have sent to Ms. Carreiro in the last couple of weeks. Mr. Carreiro said that the cards have given them a “pleasant outlook” towards people. Many are hand-written and include stories and prayers, he said. It is “very heartwarming.” He sent a few pictures of the cards, and also of the local princesses, Miss New Bedford, among them, who visited the house to comfort Ms. Carreiro. In our 9/3/20 issue we wrote about Ms. Carreiro’s diagnosis of terminal cancer. Her co-workers decorated her yard with Chistmas decorations, and neighbors also decorated their yards, as Ms. Carreiro said she hopes to be able to celebrate Christmas with her family.
