Parade
Sat., 7/6, 11 a.m., Buttonwood Park to downtown NB. The 52nd Cape Verdean Recognition Parade steps off from Buttonwood Park at 11 a.m., travels along Union Street, Acushnet Ave., Grinnell St., Purchase St., ending at the Cape Verdean Veterans Memorial Hall. The Parade Grand Marshall for 2024 will be Viola Pina.
The parade will be followed by the Kultura Festa at Serenity Gardens Field, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., between Bedford St., So. Sixth St., Wing St., & Pleasant St., featuring live music, cultural food, vendors and much more.
CV Recognition Week
In addition to the parade, the CV Recognition Committee presents
• Sun., 6/30, 9 a.m., OLOA Chrch, 47 S. 6th St., NB, Memorial Mass for CV Committee deceased members,
• Mon., 7/1, 6 p.m. Raisiing of CV Flag on steps of City Hall, 133 William St., after party at Bisca, 161 Acushnet Ave.
• Wed., 7/3, 8–midnight, CV Vets Hall, 561 Purchase St., NB. Live poetry, music (DJ)
• Fri., 7/5, 3–6 p.m. free tours of the Ernestina, Pier 3.
