Kyle Bueno
My name is Kyle Bueno and I am asking for your vote and continued trust for a second term on the School Committee. Now, before I share our accomplishments, I would like to share a bit about my background and roots here in town.
I am a proud byproduct of the Fairhaven Public School system. I attended East Fairhaven School, Rogers School, Hastings Middle School, and Fairhaven High School. It was at Rogers School where I found a passion for the Arts in 4th grade and played the violin. This initial involvement led me to other opportunities to get more engaged. In High School I joined the soccer and track teams, served as Class President for the Class of 2014 for four years, and served as Student Representative for the entire student body in School Committee meetings. I also received the Outstanding Community Award back in 2015 for helping register millennials to vote in elections.
After high school, I went on to receive my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bridgewater State University. My undergraduate degree is in Economics while my master’s degree is in Public Administration. I am proud to be the first in my family to receive a graduate degree to do what I love most, public service. In fact, I am now working as a Health Insurance Specialist for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services while working part time as a Realtor for Howe Allen Realty here in Fairhaven!
It is in this spirit of service where my highest honor has been working with you and my colleagues on this committee. Never could I imagine helping lead our district through a global pandemic. While COVID19 lingers on to this day, we have implemented a vast array of social, emotional, and mental health supports from our K-12 literacy program to innovation classrooms, enhancing students’ critical thinking and literacy skills.
In collaboration with your representatives at Town Meeting, Fairhaven High School now has a new Turf Field for all our scholars to use and showcase their pride. Our gymnasiums have been upgraded with the latest filtration systems and we continue, in collaboration with medical experts, ensuring our scholars receive in-person learning. We even are working with Sheriff Hodgson from the Bristol County Sheriff’s Department to use their K-9s to catch early remnants of COVID-19 within our schools. I am proud of our district for being the first in the nation to use this service and appreciate our first responders for all they do to keep us safe.
It’s because of your sacred trust I am proud to serve as Chair of the first ever Charter Committee, Chair of the Lagoa Friendship Pact Committee, and educate our community on diversity, equity, and inclusionary causes.
I am proud of my record and hope to earn your vote for a second term on the School Committee on Monday, April 4th. Please like my Facebook page, Kyle Bueno — Fairhaven School Committee, to learn more.
