This past summer the Legislature approved state funding in the amount of $100 million for the design/ replacement of the New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge through the Transportation and Climate Bond Bill, which Governor Baker then signed into law.
The bridge replacement project has been a priority of Rep. Straus and colleagues due to its deteriorating condition and rising costs of maintenance to keep the bridge in operation.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Bridge Replacement project, F-01-002=N-06-001, US Route 6 over the Acushnet River. All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
