The winner of the National Book Award for Fiction, “The Friend,”, written by Sigrid Nunez, is the next book chosen by Millicent Library’s Book Group. The author tells the story of a woman grieving for the death of a dear friend inherits her friend’s 180-pound Great Dane. The book is “an unforgettable exploration of loss, healing and canine love.”
The book will be discussed at Fairhaven’s Millicent Library, 45 Center St., Fairhaven, on Thurs., 12/19, at 10 a.m., in the library’s meeting room, accessible through the Walnut Street entrance.
