When Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk, the next book chosen by the Millicent Library’s Book Group, you will be reading “a love letter to city life in all its guts and grandeur.”
The selection, written by Kathleen Rooney, will be discussed at Fairhaven’s Millicent Library on Thurs., 12/14, at 10:00 a.m. in the library’s meeting room, accessible through the Walnut Street entrance.
The author “paints a portrait of a remarkable woman across the canvas of a changing America: from the Jazz Age to the onset of the AIDS epidemic: the Great Depression to the birth of hip-hop.”
The discussion is free and open to the public. The book is available at the library, or from the library’s web-site, SAILS. Call Norma Markey at 508-993-3745 for more information.
