In 1965 a shy, intelligent 20 year old boy left his home in Massachusetts and drove to Maine and lived alone in the woods for 27 years without telling his family. Christopher Thomas Knight had no reason for his actions other than he didn’t want to be around people.
In 2013 he was found and his time in the woods was ended. Based on interviews with Knight, journalist Michael Finkel wrote the bestselling book “Stranger in the Woods: Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit.”
The book will be discussed at Fairhaven’s Millicent library, 45 Center Street on Thursday May 19 at 10 a.m., in the library’s meeting room accessible through the Walnut Street entrance.
The discussion is free and open to the public. The book is available at the library or visit www.millicentlibrary.org. Call Norma Markey at 508-993-3745
