Boil water order still in place for Fairhaven

October 20, 2021 by Staff Writer

The boil water order for Fairhaven is still in place after samples tested positive for trace amounts of coliform. The samples showed no signs of e. Coli, which triggered the order on 10/7. An update posted to the town’s website on 10/19, said that that samples on 10/18 “revealed trace amounts of coliform at 2 locations out of the 16 collected samples throughout Town.”

The state is requiring that the town of Fairhaven continue to keep the boil water order in place to give time for disinfection to ccur.

Flushing, chlorinating and sample collection continue to occur.

The Town of Fairhaven will provide its next update on Thursday, October 21st, after the samples of October 20 are reported.

Visit the town’s website at https://www.fairhaven-ma.gov for more information.
