BOH corrects recycling info error

The Fairhaven Health Department would like to inform all residents of the unavoidable error that was made on the recycling notice that has been attached to all water bills. This change was made by the Mass. Depart­ment of Environ­mental Protection on 9/20/18.

The following items are NOT allowed in the curbside recycle bin:

• Cartons —  due to wax coating

• Shredded paper — must be put into trash bin

• Styrofoam — has never been allowed in recycle bin

• Plastic lids & straws — not allowed; plastic iced coffee cups are allowed

• Bubble wrap and padded enve­lopes lined with bubble wrap —  paper & plastic cannot be separated when collected

NO CARTONS

NO food and Beverage Cartons

Please contact the Health Department at 508-979-4023 ext. 125 for any questions regarding recycling or visit www. recyclesmart.org to check if certain items are allowed in your recycle bin.
