The US Coast Guard Auxiliary’s Flotilla 65 will run its 2025 FALL SEMESTER 2-week Boat America course (BA) for 4 evenings — Mondays and Thursdays, September 15 through September 25 — from 7-9 pm at the Acushnet River Safe Boating Club (ARSBC), 80 Middle Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
This 8-hour course is an in-depth and interesting boating safety course, and provides the knowledge needed to obtain a safe boating certificate required by the Hanson-Milone Act.
Designed for both the experienced and the novice boater, it is taught by Coast Guard Auxiliary instructors with extensive knowledge of local waters. It is a perfect introduction to recreational boating fundamentals, such as: types of boats, boating vocabulary, boating law, safety equipment, safe operation and navigation, boating emergencies, trailering, and water sports. Students who successfully complete the course and pass the exam are awarded certificates and cards.
