Wed., 11/13, 6 pm: Maureen Boyle Talks True Crime: True Crime, true horror: the stories that haunt us. Curious about what goes into true crime writing? The Acushnet Public Library welcomes award-winning true crime writer Maureen Boyle, who talks about the stories behind her books, including the New Bedford Highway Serial Killings, and why these cases must be memorialized.
A book signing will follow.
Maureen Boyle was named New England Journalist of the Year three times and has been honored for her work covering crime, drug issues, and human-interest stories. She is the author of three books, including Shallow Graves: The Hunt for the New Bedford Highway Serial Killer, which was honored by the Public Safety Writers Association; The Ghost: The Murder of Police Chief Greg Adams and the Hunt for His Killer; and Child Last Seen: The Search for Patty Desmond. She is the director of the Journalism Program at Stonehill College and is working on her fourth book.
