Hot dogs and puppy-dogs alike could be found at the Fairhaven Animal Shelter open house on Saturday, 7/27. Visitors enjoyed face painting, raffles, a yard sale, and other activities for children.
Dogs, cats, guinea pigs and kittens got to try to make an impression on families interested in adopting them.
Fairhaven Animal Control Officer Terry Cripps said the event raised almost $1,000 from hot dogs donated by Gary’s Best Hot Dogs, a 50/50 raffle, and items sold at the yard sale.
The money will go into the shelter gift account, and will be used for a variety of items and projects.
“All of the updates and repairs that have been done at the shelter recently have been paid for out of the gift fund,” said Mr. Cripps.
