The Fairhaven Animal Shelter has a new generator. A group of supporters raised 100% of the funds and volunteers installed the Generac generator on Friday, 10/21/22.
“This whole project was made possible by the generosity of the community,” wrote Animal Control Officer Terry Cripps on the shelter’s Facebook page. “Our animals won’t be cold again if we lose power this winter.”
Last winter the shelter lost power for 20 hours when the blizzard hit. Temperature inside the shelter got as low as 30 degrees. The new, 20kw Generac Automatic Transfer Emergency Power System will automatically transfer electricity to generator power in the event of a utility outage and power the entire building.
