Getting the boats in the water is the ritual of the season. For the recreational boaters, launch day comes when the weather gets as warm as the captain likes it. For the commercial boaters, the calendar decides, and if the warm weather is a little late getting here, then so be it. The boat goes in when it’s supposed to go in. In any case, pretty soon the waters around here will be dotted with all manner of boats, large and small, sail and motor, recreational and commercial.
