AHA! Night is this Thursday, 2/8! Are you ready for the first AHA! Night of the year? On Thursday night, there will be a wide array of free activities for everyone to enjoy, from art, music, celebrations of Black History month and more. It’s a night to share all that we love about New Bedford – past, present, and future.
AHA! is a monthly FREE celebration
of arts & culture in Downtown New Bedford presented on the second Thursday of the month.

• AHA! Seaport Sessions: Candida Rose, Celia’s Boutique, 111 William St., 6pm. New Bedford’s own Candida Rose will perform at Celia’s Boutique delivering a can’t miss performance that combines the overtones and undertones of jazz, rhythm and blues, and gospel with a touch of Cape Verdean roots.
• Game Night, Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum, 396 County Street, 4–6pm (Family Games) & 6–8pm (21+ Games). Assemble some teammates and head to the RJD Mansion. Bring your favorite board game, Magic Deck, and beverages (no red wine or Twister in the mansion please!). The Museum provides classic board games and teammates as needed, plus low-priced snacks for the evening.
• Sea Changes in Symphony New Bedford Whaling Museum, 18 Johnny Cake Hill, Beginning at 4pm with performances at 4:30, 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00pm. Join the New Bedford Whaling Museum and the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra for an evening of live music amidst the new exhibition, Framing the Domestic Sea by Jeffery C. Becton. Surreal and panoramic in scope, the layered visual artwork within this exhibition evokes the past, New England’s varied histories, the maritime world, and contemporary environmental concerns. Explore this extraordinary exhibition accompanied by classical musical performances.
• Celebrate Black History with Art & Music Alison Wells Fine Art Gallery, 106 William St., 4:30–8pm. Join us in celebrating Black History month with art and music. Musician Manny Escobar will play an early acoustic guitar set from 4:30–5:30pm. Alison will be demonstrating Gelli plate printing, which is the focus of her upcoming art workshop.
