Women’s Work: Celebrating Women’s History Month
A Free + Festive Night in Downtown New Bedford
• Live Event New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center, 38 Bethel Street Women in the Wheelhouse, 6:30 pm. Female captains, mates and deckhands who work on commercial fishing boats will share firsthand experience of life at sea.
• VAHA! (Virtual AHA) New Bedford Whaling Museum Local History Guild, 18 Johnny Cake Hill Virtual Event, 6:00pm: A Closer Look at the Work of Women Throughout History. Join the museum’s Lighting the Way’s Project Coordinator, Cathy Saunders, the Curator of Maritime History, Michael P. Dyer as they explore three familiar New Bedford Whaling Museum galleries through a new lens – the work of women.
• Live Event The Women’s Fund Southcoast Growing Strong Girls and Allies through Reading! 5:00 pm A night for parents and grandparents! Join us for an evening of refreshments and receive a reading list that inspires your children to become strong allies in the movement for justice and equity. Select a book from our library to take home!
