Know your town: Town of Acushnet boards and who’s on ’em
Acushnet has an open Town Meeting form of government. Any registered voter can vote at the annual and special Town Meeting. The town has a Town Administrator who runs the day-to-day operations of town hall and all town departments
The three-member Select Board sets policy that guides the decisions of the Town Administrator, manages the town budget, and appoints members of boards and committees.
Elections are held the fourth Tuesday in April. A special election is going to be held this year on 11/18 to vote on funding for a building at Old Colony Voc-Tech High School.
The School Department is separate, governed by the Superintendent and the elected School Committee.

Candidates need to collect 42 certified sigatures to be on the ballot.
