The Acushnet Selectboard canceled their meeting on Tuesday, 5/21/24 and scheduled a meeting for Thursday at 11 a.m. The agenda still has budget items and the Town Meeting warrant on it.
The town is trying to close a budget shortfall that was at more than $1 million at the start of budget season. Officials have steadily been chipping away at the deficit with a series of budget cuts and reviewing revenue numbers. The state’s budget, with the aid to cities and towns, is not yet finalized. Acushnet’s Town Meeting will be held on Monday, 6/17.
