Acushnet Elementary School’s principal and assistant principal wrote this letter to Acushnet families that was posted on the town’s website.
Greetings, Acushnet Families!
We are both thrilled to join the Acushnet community as the new administrative team at the elementary school.
Both of us are longtime Southcoast residents dedicated to improving the education of students in our care. Between the two of us, we have over forty years of educational experience, both as teachers and as adminis trators. We complement one another with our areas of expertise. Leah has spent many years helping all students successfully read while Julianna has worked to ensure students have the strongest skills in math. At our core, however, we share the same passion: that all students have the opportunity not just to get what they need, but to shape the future they want.
After such a difficult year, we hope to lead AES back to a place that feels more “normal”, with plans that address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. We may still have to adjust policies and procedures to adapt to the pandemic to keep all students and staff healthy and safe. Just like you had to do last year, we ask for your flexibility and understanding if we need to make these adjustments.
We will do our best to provide you with the most up-to-date information whenever we can.
