On February 3, the Acushnet Fire Department started a new feature on its Facebook page to introduce each of their members to the public. This week we meet Andrew Corrigan.
Andrew Corrigan is no stranger to this town. He has lived in Acushnet since he was three years old, joined our department as a Call Firefighter in 2011 and for the last three and one-half years was employed as the Facilities Director for the Acushnet Public Schools.
Andrew is a 2009 graduate of Old Colony and has worked alongside his father, Doug, at Corrigan Electric for years. After completing the Massachusetts Call Firefighter Recruit Program, Andrew rose quickly through the ranks due to his commitment, dedication and leadership qualities.
In 2017 he was promoted to the rank of Call Captain, and earlier this year he was promoted to the position of Fulltime Firefighter!
In addition, the Town made the investment in training Andrew as an EMT and he has served in that role admirably, demonstrating true interest in emergency medical care
If all that doesn’t keep him busy, Andrew and Ashley, his wife of the last 19 months, have just built a new home in town. It doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere soon, for which we are grateful.
