More than 40 children joined Boston Bruins Mascot Blades for four challenges recently at the Acushnet Public Library.
APL was one of 10 Massachusetts Libraries chosen to host the event, sponsored by the Mass. Board of Library Commissioners, Boston Bruins and the Mass. Library System.
After a storytime and trivia contest with Blades, participants broke into teams and took part in four challenges: Volleyball out on the library’s lawn, giant Jenga, a Bruins word search, and a hockey shootout, with Blades guarding the net.
All participants were able to take a photo with Blades and received goodie bags, courtesy of the Bruins. “It was an honor to be selected,” wrote Dina Brasseur, Acushnet Library Director. “The staff of the Library had as much fun as our patrons!”
