Acushnet’s elections will be held on Saturday, 5/18/24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the shorter hour reflecting that there are no contested races on the ballot. All precincts vote at Acushnet Elementary School, 800 Middle Road. Voters will vote on all townwide offices.
Longtime Selectboard member Kevin Gaspar is running for re-election to his seat; and long time School Committee member John Howcroft will also be on the ballot for his seat.
Other races are: Assessor, with Francis Mello running for one seat; Board of Health with incumbent David Davignon on the ballot; Commissioner of Trust Funds with Tommy Lipsitt running for a full term, and a vacant, unexpired term also on the ballot; Planning Commissioner, with incumbent Richard Ellis running for a full term, and a vacant, unexpired term also on the ballot; Cemetery Board, with incumbent Paul Fortin running for his seat; Library Trustee, with two seats up, and two candidates, Jennifer Alves and Diane Ferreira; Park Commissioner, with incumbent Chad Leclair running for re-election; and incumbent Andrew Gomes running for his seat on the Housing Authority.
