Acushnet’s election is on Tuesday, 4/22/25. The last day to file nomination papers was 3/4.
Former police chief, Christopher Richmond, did not return papers for Selectboard, so incumbent Robert Hinckley is running unopposed for his seat. There were no other chances for a contested race.
All other elected boards have seats up for reelection, including: Liberio DaSilva Soares for Board of Assessors; Thomas Fortin for Board of Health; two Commissioner of Trust seats, with no candidates; Charlene Fortin, Cemetery Board; Park Commissioner, with no candidate; Marc Francois for Planning Commissioner; Lucas Paul Carreia for Tree Warden.
The School Committee has two seats up, with Ebony McGkynn on the ballot; but Jesse Ellis had come up short on certified signatures.
Voters will also face a ballot question asking for a debt exclusion to allow the school department to borrow money for energy and air quality improvements.
The last day to register to vote is Friday, 4/11.
Mail-in Voter Registration Forms are available at the Town Clerk’s Office, the Acushnet Library and State and Federal offices.
