Acushnet’s 10th annual Cruise Night shut down an hour early because of the EEE threat, but that did not stop people from coming out during the first two hours. The streets of the Parting Ways area were blocked to traffic on Thursday, 8/29/19 while 130-149 antique, classic, and simply cool looking vehicles filled the roadways. Music by the Klassics featuring oldies from the days of big cars and cheap gasoline filled the air.
People danced on the town green, sang along to the music, and munched on goodies prepared by nonprofits.
The event is sponsored annually by the Acushnet Celebration Committee; music sponsored by the Acushnet Policemen’s Association.
