Both Acushnet and Fairhaven Police Departments participated in the annual Fill The Bus toy drives in cooperation with Tremblay Bus Company and Safe Zones. Both events were held on Saturday, 12/7. Fairhaven’s was at Walmart; Acushnet’s was at Town Hall. Both departments reported great turnouts, and filled their buses.
“Special thanks to Walmart, Tremblay Bus, and Dunkin’ Donuts for their assistance in this wonderful event,” wrote the Fairhaven PD on its Facebook page. “A huge special thanks to Fairhaven high senior Katie Machado, who donated a van full of toys. Katie has donated every year and what she did this year was amazing.”
“Once again, the Town of Acushnet has outdone themselves,” wrote the Acushnet PD on its Facebook Page. “What an amazing outpouring of support from our residents, our officers, the Chief and our families! We filled the bus and more! A special Thank You to the South Coast Firestorm 12u Travel softball team and the Acushnet Youth Soccer Boys Travel 6/7/8 team for being amazing helpers!!”
