From Acushnet Fire Department Facebok Post, 5/19/20
Back in January we received a donation from longtime Acushnet resident Frances Gwozdz in memory of her late husband Edwin, a veteran of the Korean War.
We told Mrs. Gwozdz that the funds would be used to improve the safety of our firefighters and, at the same time, honor her husband.
Last night we turned on for the first time “climbing lights” which illuminate the rungs of Ladder One making nighttime climbing much safer.
There is also no better way to honor a true patriot than the colors we selected.
