With a statewide stay-at-home directive in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19, the streets and parks of Boston, usually bustling with people, were eerily empty and quiet. Our fearless photographer, Glenn C. Silva, ventured up to the big city on Tuesday, 3/24/20, to capture some scenes of the empty streets.

- The Mallard family must be quite lonely as the usually bustling walkway in the Boston Public Garden is deserted on 3/24/20, while Mrs. Mallard’s open mouth is covered up with a mask, her ducklings still sporting the green of St. Patrick’s Day. The ducks in the beloved sculpture are often dressed in seasonal attire or sports jerseys of Boston teams. Photo by Glenn C. Silva.
